Black...white ...indian or other... there will always be comments about black and white or a minority being treated unfair.. But there is still no reason for this to be an issue over an idea card. I treat everyone the same. Some people feel it is unjust when a member of there own race is held to the laws. You want to be part of the melting part of America. Then you will be treated the same. A tazer hurts the same to blacks and whites. There is no reason for race to be brought into this.. If all the officers were white and it was a black student then everyone would be posting.... But that is not the issue. The issue is this happened to students in a library... on campus... OUR FUTURE LEADERS..... so much for quiet study enviroment Quote | Post New

Posted by: justify on Nov 21, 2006 @ 12:59:05 pm a little dialogue to prove my point tazed... cop says "stop fighting us" boy says "heres your patriot act. heres your abuse of power" cop says "stop fighting us" boy says "im not fighting you, i said i would leave (which he never said until just then). boy says in a calm voice "you tazed me for no reason i was trying to leave this god forsaken place and you stopped me ( we can hear at the beginning that he wasnt trying to leave that he was yelling) cop says "stand up" boy says "xxxx off" cop says "stand up or we will taze you again (this being way past the time that the boy is capable of standing in fact you hear him talking casual which is the first sign that his motor functions are restored. tazed again.. boy says "ill leave" obviously now that isnt the case, he cant just leave after what has just happened, hes already resisted so leaving is no longer an option, all they wanted was for him to stand up. This all comes down to students not respecting campus police. I am a senior at OU at i myself have seen the disrespect amongst the "wanna be" police, the same thing happen here. bottom line is if the kid would have remained calm and left at the beginning it would not have escalated to this point. hope the dialogue helps some see that point.
