i have never hated anyone more than i hate this guy. is the movie
historically inaccurate, of course. are the persians the villians and
thus transformed into hideous beasts with claws and fangs, that goes
without saying. if you want to watch something thats going to tell you
the real story of what happened, then go watch the discovery channel, they
have a great documentary on the battle that gives you all the details that
you are looking for. if you want to see some heroic, jacked up muthas
slicing through heads like its their jobs, then watch the movie, but don't
watch one and expect the other. it is true that due to the perspective of
the victors, wars and history are written with biase. i know this,
everyone knows this. nazis and middle eastern people will almost always
be shown as the villians or evil, because they are the enemies. the
middle east was the enemy of the west, thus they are shown that way. in
american hisory are the british shown to be nice guys who just want their
piece? hell no, Americans learn that the British were tight ass douchebags
who wanted our money and wanted to screw us. is that completely
historically acurate, probably not, but its hard to know when the ones
writting the history have their own agenda. but i'm getting off the point,
you're a giant douche because you've felt alienated your whole life due to
the fact that you are a minority, and being middle eastern has labeled you
the enemy since the 90's, and hey man that sucks that americans are racists
and be mad all you want. but now you're just reaching for anything and
actively trying to find a political message. the message here is for you
shut your filthy mouth you censoring commie, cause movies that you don't
like will be made, and you can go cry your eyes out all day but in the end
everyone will hate you and you'll just kill yourself. so i advise you
learn to deal with the fact that everyone isn't out to get your culture,
or you might end up hanging yourself after the next movie about the
crusades comes out.

Where's this guys accent? If you're gonna complain about demonization of a
country that your parents or grandparents are from at least get THEIR
feelings before you complain.
Also, in the movie the guy that represents the Persain army made it clear
that the persains had conquered much of the world and was the "army of
1000 nations". The soldiers would be black, white, middleeastern, purple,
blue, and possibly rainbow colors... Go hang out with Micheal Moore or
something, jeez.

Why is this even posted? I was starting to like this site until this crap
got on here. First off, this guy hasn't even done any research on the
historical aspects himself. Second, he can't seem to make up his mind as
to what the hell he is complaining about. WHAT? Are you pissed it isn't
historical or that it is racial? Grow up. Its a friggin movie made from
a comic adaptation. Of course the characters are over the top. People
like you are why racism will never die. Oh, and guess what brainiac.
Those 300 Spartans did repel TWO waves of thousands of Perisans for two
days. It was a very narrow pass they were fighting within. And yes, the
Immortals DID wear a wrap over their heads. It was part of their mystic
in trying to portray themselves as something other worldly in an attempt
to scare their enemies. So actually, you could say those guys demonized
themselves. LOL Yes, Americans do have stereotypes of a lot of different
people, but ever been outside of America yourself? See what people think
of you as an American. You'll come back real quick and love it. I could
do nothing but tear this "review" apart for awhile, but I'll leave it at
this...

why are there no people from middle east or with middle eastern heritage in
any professional sports? oh yea, they are physically weaker than the
average human. No way could you compare middle-easterns to body builders.

Boring and uninteresting and this guy didn't do his homework. This guy
saying the "Director" made this movie... this guy wants to talk about
accuracy. This was a graphic novel written by Frank Miller. And the story
is true, but the writer took some cinematic flair with the costumes. You
say you're "Persian", but in reality, Persians don't exist anymore. You're
Iranian. The Sassanid Empire is long gone and the Battle of Thermopylae did
happen. Obviously there were more the 300 soldiers, but as stated before,
this story was souped up to make it a movie rather then a documentary.

so what if he is nice? half of what the guy said was 100% wrong. so, yea,
I guess I am ignorant for pointing out that more than half of his claims
are just as inaccurate. LOL

This Persian guy is not educated on the topic. If anyone watching this has
learned any history of the Battle of Thermopolyae, the Persians were slave
masters attempting the conquer the enitre Western World. As far as the
monsters and masks go, they directed was making an attempt to combine
Greek Mythology with Spartan History. And Spartans trained from the
minute they were born to become the elite soldier. This guy is totally
retarded and is pissed off he was born looking the way he was. He is
completely wrong with 99% of what his is saying. People like him do no
deserve an audience.

Ok, way to take this way too seriously. This has to be one of the greatest
underdog stories of all recorded history. Obviously, Frank Miller wanted
to depict the heroic and eclectic honor bound system the ancient Spartans
possessed. This means they obviously are the protagonists. This means that
the invading Persian army have the be the antagonists. Frank Miller did
what any good story teller would do and tried to make you root for the
underdog protagonists by glorifying them and making the Persions, invading
antagonists seem less nice then maybe they actually were. Its how stories
work. In my opinion, you complaining about how they depicted a certain
race of people unfavorably is just as bad as someone focusing on that same
point as a positive thing. You are allowing the hate that some people try
and squeeze into everyday life become a reality by acknowledging their
ability to hurt you. Also, they didnt just focus on one group of people
because the Persian empire was comprised of many nations which is clearly
displayed in the movie. With such a vast empire there is no way that
Persia had them all expertly trained since most armies in that time were
not comprised of nothing but soldiers just trained to fight, just like the
other Greeks in the movie. So being paranoid that Frank Miller and Zack
Snyder tried to be politicaly against Iranians is an absurd accusation
that clearly shows how much ignorant and hate-filled racists have truly
convinced you that they are the majority.

You're a complete idiot. Go to google, type in "worlds strongest
weightlifting olympics" under images and see which ethnicity can claim
they have the strongest bodybuilder in the world. For those of you too
lazy to check, he is Persian. Theres nothing about physical inferiority,
and i cant help but to laugh when i see what you have typed. The reason
you dont see more Persian atheletes is because Persians dont live/grow up
in ghetto's in America where our only way out is by getting into a
professional sport. We study, get accepted to the finest colleges and make
a lot more money than the average american man (btw, for the SAT
statistics, where do you think middle-easterners check under
ethnicity/race? ASIAN/Other ASIAN). We prefer to become doctors, dentists,
lawyers, buisness owners etc. Next time you go to a medical office (in a
non-hick state), look at the doctors directory and count how many
middle-eastern last names you see. I can almost guarantee you there will
be at least a few. I dont care what anyone replys to this, its all fact.
