Exactly!!! She may be flexible but unless she practices FULL SPEED, FULL
CONTACT & NO RULES fighting, she'll get her ass kicked. I've seen MANY
black-belt so called experts get their ass kicked by untrained fighters.
Going through the motions doesn't really help much when you are in a REAL
street fight.

What she is doing is called an 'Enbu'. It displays the stance and
technique. Obviously she wouldn't be doing all the 'showy' stuff in a real
fight. nowing the technique as well as she does jsut means she can react
to almost anything that is thrown at her.

I understand all of that, but like I said I've seen many black-belts get
their a ss kicked by people who are not trained in any type of martial
arts. The adremalin from a REAL fight with no pads and no rules can f uck
up a person’s game when they mainly go through the motions.

im gonna have to agree with zhooks on this one. My best friend is a 2nd
degree black belt, and yes he can kick some ass.... but my other friend is
nothing but an occasional street fighter when need be...long story short,
black belt friend is a trainer and went no rules against non trained
friend. black belt got ground and pounded. not saying its true fro all
martial artists

Ok...I've been doing martial arts for about 20 years...a little experience.
Anyone who wants to be able to actually fight...HAS TO FIGHT. This means
contact sparring with all four ranges. If you can't fight on the ground,
you will likely eventually get ground pounded by even a high school
wrestler. (Cont)

(continued from above) Take someone out of their range into one they suck
at, and you win. That's why lots of ground pounders take out karate guys.
If a karate guy has no ground experience, he's done if the other guy gets
in.

There are some very good fighters out there with great actual fight ability
that do kata, but they also really train to fight. The UFC stuff really
got a lot of martial artists to wake up awhile back and a lot more cross
training is going on making for good fighers. But, there are still those
that do the dance but never actually fight...sometimes you don't know
until you go against them.

I would think that could go for anyone though, niot just martial artists
and cage fighters....never the less, I don't fight...I would fail.

Thanks for the honesty ezraa123, KillSwithcNY & bosshonkey!! Most people
would be bias and say they will kick someone's a ss just because they know
one type of Martial Arts. You have to practice at it full speed and know
all aspect of the fight game to be dominate.
