funny how people let financial situation get mixed up with the color of
their skin. it just happens to be that the majority of black people live
in the ghetto and are poor and that the majority of white people are
middle class and above. now people think that all black people are the
same and white people are the same, but in fact there are millions of
black people and millions of white people on this planet so the chances of
every black person to be poor and every white person to be well off are
pretty low.

has a good point. Race (and ethnicity) are qualitatively different things
than social class (financial situation). Blacks make up about 13% of the
US population but are overrepresented in terms of class position.
Proportionately more blacks are in the lower class than whites (although
in overall numbers poor whites outnumber poor blacks). There is a strong
relationship between race and social class, it is almost impossible to
disentangle the two.
