this is what gives hip-hop its bad rep, it allows people to bash the music
with out actually knowing what hip-hop is about..i personally dont like a
lot of "mainstream rap" because its basically about guns, hoes, money,
drugs, and other negative stereotypes that portray the black community..i
do believe that a lot of the rappers keep those negative stereotypes
because it is what socety wants, majority dont want to listen to a rap
artist whos not talking about drugs and so on

I hate to say it but even though they had some hip-hop stars portrayed...
this has nothing to do with them. If you grow up in a certain lifestyle,
you just have it in your DNA to not "Snitch" for fear that the person that
gets into trouble will retaliate against you. This can mean your family is
shunned in church, you can't go to the local store without being judged,
people seek you & your family out to harass you or if you have a crime
stopper type thing in your community people will try to rob you of the
reward. I happen to be the product of a family that did A LOT of illegal
stuff, and to this day (even now that I am far away from that) I would
never catch myself talking to anyone outside of my family about sensitive
matters that could jeopardize their freedom. So basically, what I'm trying
to say is that this is'nt anything new. Some hip hop stars decided to make
money from an old saying and because our country is getting more "right
wing," every day it's been brought to the fore-front. Much LOVE!
